Tools/Accuracy Policy

Accuracy Policy

Making sure every calculator on ToolLarder gives a correct result is our top priority. This page explains how we choose and verify our formulas.

How Are Formulas Chosen?

Every tool is based on widely accepted, publicly documented standard formulas — for example, the standard annuity formula from financial mathematics for loan calculations, the World Health Organization's official ranges for BMI, or the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for calorie needs. We never make up a formula ourselves.

Verification Process

Every calculation is tested against known reference values (hand-calculated or drawn from reliable sources) before it's published. Each tool's source code is also protected by unit tests, which run automatically whenever a formula is changed.

When Is a Tool Updated?

A tool is updated whenever a bug is reported, a formula's underlying standard changes (such as an annual update to an official holiday calendar), or a more accurate calculation method is identified. Notable updates are shared in the Changelog.

Limitations

These tools provide general-purpose estimates and calculations; they are not a substitute for personalized financial, medical, or legal advice. See our Terms of Use for more detail.
